Definition:

BIOTYPE: A strain of an insect species. Some strains may eventually be described as separate species. This occurs as a result of speciation or simply because entomologists working on that insect group do the basic research that allows them to determine that the "strains" are in fact seperate species. This is what happened to "Strain B" of the Sweetpotato whitefly.
